September Spending Freeze + PROJECT: Wardrobe.

September Spending Freeze + PROJECT: Wardrobe.

As I mentioned yesterday, I have two fun projects lined up for me this month. They are (drum roll please...) a September Spending Freeze and PROJECT: Wardrobe! To be honest, there isn't much for me to say about either of these projects right now, except for an introduction/summary and a plan of action. At the end of the month/beginning of October, I will have two large posts to share with you with all the details.

September Spending Freeze
The only thing I will buy from September 1st-30th is gasoline. That's it! If I have gift cards or store credit somewhere, I can use them, but the only money leaving my hands will be for gas. Note: I live at home, so all food is paid for by my parents. If I lived on my own, I'd have to make an exception to the freeze for food purchases. This will be (and frankly already has been) a struggle. I never really realized this until yesterday, but it's amazing how easy it is to spend money. I'm making a list on my phone of all the items I want to buy this month but won't, so at the end of the month I can add up how much money I "saved." Have you ever done a spending freeze before? I'm excited.

PROJECT: Wardrobe
Something I'm even more excited about is PROJECT: Wardrobe. I've devised a closet clean-out plan that I think is fool-proof. I'm not going to share the plan yet though, because I want to test it out on myself first. However, with this project (and the spending freeze), I will be sharing little insights and tips throughout the month. Maybe after I clean out my wardrobe, I can use some of my spending freeze savings for new fall clothes? Does that defeat the purpose of both of these projects? Probably. :|

Oh, and that palm tree photo up there has literally nothing to do with this post. I just really miss Florida lately. That's all. ;)

  1. Wow, good luck. I'm looking forward to reading your updates. No food purchases either? I feel like that's where all my money probably goes.....

    1. Well I live with my family, so the food is taken care of by my parents. I should have mentioned that. I'll edit the post. If I was living on my own, I would definitely have to make a "food" exception. Thanks for the reminder. :)
