Erin from Credit Card Insider recently contacted me with a "Splurge vs. Save" challenge, and as soon as I read the email my first thought was "DUH YES!" You guys should know by now how much I love upcycling, bargains, and thrifting. One of the best things about wearing vintage or secondhand clothing is that you can find some truly unique pieces. One of the other best things is that you can find pretty common or trendy things for a fraction of the price. This burgundy velvet mini-dress is a great example of the latter. I found this little number at Goodwill a few months ago. Originally I intended on selling it in the shop, but I decided that my long-time crush on this style of dress, like this one from Nasty Gal warranted me keeping it for myself. I've worn it so many times since! Originally $78.00/now $54.60 at Nasty Gal, $3 at Goodwill. In this round of "Splurge vs. Save", I'd say "Save" wins! ;)
