Happy Halloween!

Image
Today is one of my favorite days of the year. Unfortunately, with work every weekend and shop stuff during the week, I haven't put together any sort of costume. I don't have anywhere to go, I just want to get dressed up for handing out candy. The trick-or-treaters usually don't start coming by til around 3PM, so I have time to throw something together. I was considering wearing this dress from the shop and calling myself Cher, but would kids these days even know who she is? Will they think I'm Katy Perry instead? Hahah! Maybe I'll be a Dia de los Muertos lady like I was last year, when Halloween got cancelled for Hurricane Sandy. :( In the spirit of the holiday, I'm having a scary movie marathon (and live tweeting it, so you can follow along on Twitter if you'd like. Finally, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite Halloween-y posts from the last few years!

My New Baby!

I've had a MacBook since April of 2008. My parents bought it for me as an early graduation gift when my last laptop died right before finals. She and I had a long run, but lately she's starting to quit on me. The hard drive is practically full, it's so slow, and cosmetically, she's a mess. A year ago (almost to the day), right before Hurricane Sandy hit, I was about to run to the Apple store to buy a new laptop, but I stayed home. Today I figured a year had passed; it was time. This is the first time I've ever bought a new computer when the old one wasn't completely dead, so now I technically have two laptops, which is weird. I've also been using my wireless keyboard with my iPhone so I can blog from bed while drinking coffee and watching "30 Rock" in the mornings. Lazy or inventive? Anyway, I'm excited to get to know this new MacBook. Feel free to leave any tips or tricks for me. :)

Road Trip • Parts 1 and 2 in iPhone Photos!

Here are a few more photos from parts one and two of the road trip! I realized that I had some fun photos to share that weren't just outfit shots. Hope you like 'em! :)

Current Obsession • Krakus Nectar.

My mom picked up this juice, Krakus Nectar--Carrot, Strawberry, Apple juice, from a specialty shop near by. I tried some this morning and I love it! I didn't want to be a hog and drink it all, but the bottle says to consume it all within 48 hours of opening. Sorry, everyone else in my family! This stuff is mine. Does this mean I have to buy a juicer now? Am I an adult?

Falling.

Image
Oh, hello. Not sure how it happened, but I skipped blogging for a week! I'm not sure if I mentioned this on the blog yet, but I started working at a restaurant lately and I've been struggling with balancing my new schedule with my old one. Working on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday has in a way made Monday-Thursday my weekend, and this past week I've found myself being very unmotivated and tired. However, starting today I'm feeling much more like myself. We're smack dab in the middle of fall, and I find myself falling into habits old and new. I'm really excited! Hope you're having a great weekend and thanks for being here. ♥

WEARING • Road Trip Part 2!

These photos were taken right around sunset. Earlier in the afternoon, Frank and I had a late lunch at a fun German restaurant in Honesdale called The Alpine, checked into our hotel, and drove around until we found a cool place to pull over and shoot some photos. Pennsylvania is seriously so gorgeous this time of year. I would love to go back before it gets much colder, but unfortunately I'll be working most weekends in the near future. We also had the pleasure of stopping by another Minnetonka retailer, Alice's Wonderland in Greeley. The ladies and gentleman who were working there that day were so kind to me and Frank. They showed us all of their Minnetonka merchandise and even brought over the hats and purses for me to play with. I really love the fringe purses, but I could never buy one because I would never be able to decide on which color I liked the best. Check back for more photos from this day tomorrow!

WEARING • Road Trip Part 1!

Image
We started off our Pennsylvania road trip early on Saturday morning. Armed with coffee and an iPod full of autumnal tunes, we hit the road. The drive was so scenic. Autumn leaves really are the best, aren't they? Our first stop was at Pike County Outfitters in Milford, PA to check out their Minnetonka selection. I met a bear too, so there's that. Frank checked out the men's section while I wandered around snapping photos. I loved the rustic vibe this place had, and I think it really fits in with Minnetonka's aesthetic perfectly. We finished shopping and stepped outside to take some outfit shots. Frank took a series of photos with leaves falling from a tree right in front of me. It looks so cool in iPhoto, I think I have to make a gif. I hear Google+ has a gif-maker. Maybe I'll check that out. Today I'll be very busy shooting new vintage for the shop, so gifs might have to wait until tomorrow. Have a great day, friends! :)
