tonic tuesday 8/30: clean-up.

Image
Hey folks! Sorry for the delayed tonic tuesday post, but the last two days have been just a whirl of wind! My mom's (and my former) office is still without power since Irene, so she's been home with me and we've been working on cleaning the entire house! I know that might not sound ideal to some people, but I love it! We've worked on the yard, basement, and dining room so far. Today's tt collection is a bunch of vintage items all related to the art of cleaning! Click through to go to the Etsy listing. Some sweet things: 1. I'm seriously obsessed with this DIY from Design Sponge. They call it a "Vintage Book Travel-Tech Organizer." I call it a dream. I wonder if I can have one made by my trip to Florida in October. I might have to stop by the local library book sale soon! source . 2. Is it wrong that I'm already thinking about not only my birthday (9/15), but Christmas gifts, too? Maybe so, but I have to say that I need this Custom Watercolour Pop Portrait for me and Frank. I already own a Pop Pop Portrait and it's adorable, but now I want one of my own! source . 3. How cool is this video? It must have been hard work finding movie lines that rhyme so perfectly! 4. This print is beautiful. I'll take one, thanks! source . 5. I have a serious love for anatomical tattoos. I have an anatomical heart on my side! I love this sweet tattoo of a spine on the back of this person's neck! source . 6. I bought a Polaroid Impulse at Goodw

stranded at the drive-in.

A few weeks ago, Frank and I went to the Delsea Drive-In in Vineland, NJ. It was so fun! They had two screens and each screen plays two movies a night--a double feature! We saw the last "Harry Potter" and half of "Horrible Bosses" before we got too tired (the theater was about two hours away, the movies started at 9 PM, and Frank had work the next day). It was also drizzling, but that didn't stop our fun. I was so stoked on the snack bar because there was a ton of stuff and it was all fairly priced. Typical Lauren! I really want to go again before summer's over!

tectonic tuesday 8/23: red red wine.

music monday: John Denver - "Take Me Home, Country Roads"

When Frank and I went to Virginia in February ( 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ), he could not stop singing this song. It was stuck in our heads literally all weekend. I'm not complaining, though! Frank's cover band added this song to their repertoire and played it for the first time on Friday night (and it was wonderful)! It was stuck in my head all weekend. Again. Enjoy!

Some sweet things: 1. I'm loving this sweet "girl cave" from Wayward Daughter. So many pretty things and lots of inspiration over there. source . 2. One of the reasons I really wish I had my own apartment is so I can own and actually use awesome plates, glasses, and other housewares. I have boxes full of stuff in the basement just waiting to be used. I'd love to add this sweet "Stop and Smell the Roses" apron to the collection! source . 3. Speaking of apartment-things that I'd love..how incredibly sweet is this door mat? From one direction it says "Come in" and from the other is says "Go Away"! Amazing! source . 4. Frank and I are going to Disney World in Florida in mid-October! I'm stoked because Florida in October is gorgeous, plus we'll be there for the Food & Wine festival and Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! We've been trying to think of good costumes for the party. Any suggestions
