Sweaty Betty!

Sweaty Betty!

Admittedly, I'm not the healthiest person on the block. See #iamgross on my Instagram if you need an example. However, lately I have been taking steps towards being healthier. I have been stationary biking and jump roping (jumping rope?) some nights when I'm not too tired, and I'm dipping back into yoga after a few years of laziness. I even downloaded an app called "30 Day Ab Challenge" (I'm on day two and I'm already hurting), because summer is coming and I plan on being at the beach very often. This being a fashion/lifestyle and not-actually-fitness blog, I'm here to talk about activewear. I think the only actual workout apparel that I currently own is a ratty old sports bra and a pink Adidas zip-up that I bought when I was in high school. Anything else I wear to work out in is either old college sweatpants or band t-shirts. So now I'm looking to Sweaty Betty for something new!

First of all, how great is the name "Sweaty Betty"? I just love it. I'm a sucker for a good brand name, what can I say? According to the "About" section of the site, 90% of women like it the name and 90% of men actively dislike it. Haha! Moving on... Sweaty Betty carries a full line of women's activewear, from yoga clothes to swim to dance apparel to ski. The site also has pages dedicated to inspiration, knowledge, and community, which I think is just great. Also, almost all of the item pages feature a little video/gif of a model wearing the piece, so you can really see how it fits on a human while you're shopping. Super cool.

If I had to choose, I think the Calypso Yoga Pants are my favorite item on the entire site. When I used to do yoga often, I didn't love wearing yoga shorts, and I don't like flared or baggy yoga pants because they tend to get in my way. The Calypso pants are cropped and tight around the calf/ankle, and they have a little M.C.-Hammer-vibe too, which I fully support. And since I'm in the market for a new sports bra, I love this one (Stamina Sports Bra) in the Phoenix Red Flame color. A girl would feel powerful working out in a bra like that, don't you think?
