For the last few weeks, months, years(?), Frank and I have been saying that we need to be better with our money. Save more, spend less, etc. It seems, however, that the more we talk about budgeting and saving, the less we do. Thanks to some upcoming changes in each of our lives/budgets, we actually have to start being smarter with our money. On Monday, we used a gift card from Christmas to get dinner at Cracker Barrel. We had lots of fun business talks and even some political conversations (which I generally like to stay away from). All it cost was a few bucks for our waiter's tip and a little bit of gasoline. I'm starting this "Cheap Date" series to keep track of this somewhat challenging time, as well as offer tips and inspiration for others who are trying to spend a little less. Suggestions for us are more than welcome, too!
