Friday was the official start of Texas Style Council, though not technically til 5PM. Maria, Renee, and I woke up and grabbed some Starbucks (baby's first iced caramel macchiato!), then we went to the Hyatt to drop off our swap items. Oh, what's that? The swap wasn't at the Hyatt and we went to the wrong place? YEP. Hahah, silly girls. We then headed over to the actual swap location and met the Lulu's girls (who I LOVE) and picked up our badges. After that we went to Dovetail to get tattoos. Possibly the coolest/best decorated shop I've ever been in. I got a wire hanger as a little representation of my vintage biz. I'm pretty pleased with it. B)
Later in the day, I had the privilege of attending the Minnetonka Takes Texas dinner with Maria. It was such a nice way to kick off the conference. Maria and I got to mingle and chat with the delightful women from Minnetonka, Marit and Kalyn. I also got to hang out with some blogger friends, as well as meet some new ones. There was an amazing food spread including baked brie and some heavenly lasagna. YUM. I also got a free pair of mocs (the Fall 2013 Limited Edition - Kilty Suede Moc in Peacock Blue, to be exact), which I am obsessed with. I try not to use that word lightly.
After that was the Lulu's swap, which was crazy crowded, but there were tasty drinks, so I didn't mind too much. ;) I scored a striped dress, a maxi dress from Lulu's that is just so dreamy, and a book from Tieka! After the swap, a few of us (including my girl Roxy and the darling Haley from Style Sound Houston, seen above rocking some Tumbleweeds shades pretty hard) went to a bar called Rio. Many gin and tonics were consumed and lots of dancing occurred. Needless to say, I was pretty tired during the panels on Saturday. More to come!
